Dear new faculty,

On behalf of the York University Faculty Association (YUFA), we would like to congratulate you on your full-time appointment to York University and to welcome you to the Association. YUFA is the professional association and certified bargaining agent for approximately 1,500 faculty, librarians and archivists, and post-doctoral visitors at York University. Your membership in YUFA began on the same day you started at York.

To welcome and introduce you to YUFA, we will host a reception for new faculty at the end of the first day of New Faculty Orientation. The details are as follows:

'Welcome to YUFA' reception for new faculty
Tuesday, August 29
2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Orange Snail Pub & Restaurant
Lower level, Stong College (see building #13 on this map)
Keele campus

Directions: As soon as the first day of orientation ends, please assemble at the main entrance to The Underground, and a YUFA staff member will escort the group to the Orange Snail, just a short walk away.

The reception will include:

• A BBQ
• A buffet of hot and cold foods (including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options)
• An open bar

The reception will take place on the outdoor patio of the The Orange Snail (in the event of inclement weather, we will move indoors), and will be an occasion for new faculty to meet one another in a relaxed social setting. Members of YUFA's Executive Committee will also be in attendance, to introduce you to the Association.
