In late August 2023, all unions representing workers at York University sent a letter to president Rhonda Lenton calling on the Employer to renegotiate compensation.
A response has been received indicating that the Employer would like to “explore the terms of wage reopener discussions.” Please see the full response letter here.
To ensure that the forthcoming discussions between the unions and the Employer result in increased compensation for members – especially in light of the significant increases to the cost of living – all unions on campus will be holding a rally on Wednesday, September 20th at the Keele Campus. Acting in solidarity, we can make certain the Employer understands the importance of fair wages, particularly given the sound financial situation of the university.
All YUFA members are encouraged to attend the Rally for Fair Wages at York University on Wednesday, September 20 at 12:10 P.M, at the Keele Campus.
