By Prof. Tuulia Law: Et al. is thrilled to announce our first undergraduate art show, featuring paintings and drawings by students from York’s Visual Arts program. The show is up in the café now, and will be displayed until February 15, 2020. There will be an opening event with the artists on Friday, January 17 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event is co-sponsored by the Department of Visual Art and Art History.

The art is for sale—we encourage you to consider supporting an undergraduate student by buying a piece of art for your office or as a gift.

We would like to thank our membership for an enthusiastic response to our live jazz performances on Thursday evenings, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The performances resumed on Thursday, January 9 and will continue throughout 2020.

We also have a new website, thanks to the hard work of our placement students in Business and Society. Check it out at our usual site address and stay tuned for news about upcoming events at the café. On the new website, you will also find our newly expanded menu.

Finally, we are hiring part-time front- and back-of-house staff, at $15 per hour. The Smart Serve Training Program is required for front-of-house applicants; two to three years of kitchen experience is required for back-of-house applicants. Please email resumes to [email protected].
