YUFA stands in solidarity with other Canadian faculty associations

When a faculty association in Canada is locked out by its employer, or goes on strike, YUFA provides support. Last year, YUFA supported the Association of McGill Professors of Law during their seven-week strike. This year, at Dalhousie University, faculty were locked out for over three weeks by the employer. YUFA, along with other faculty associations, made financial contributions to these two faculty associations. YUFA also sent a message to the Dalhousie senior administration shortly before the lockout calling for a fair settlement.

YUFA is pleased that on September 16, the Dalhousie Board of Governors and the Dalhousie Faculty Association came to terms on a tentative collective agreement.
