The YUFA Executive Committee has approved a financial contribution to LUFA in the amount of $2,000.   YUFA typically sends support when sister faculty associations in Canada are on strike or locked-out.

After receiving the funds, LUFA wrote back to YUFA, saying: ”We are grateful for your support during this important and challenging moment for our members. Please extend our thanks to your Executive and membership. Knowing that colleagues and associations across the sector are standing with us means a great deal.”

The YUFA Executive Committee strongly urges all members to support LUFA colleagues, particularly in light of the lay-off of faculty and closure of programs that have occurred at Laurentian University since 2021.   Flying picket to Sudbury, anyone?   Stay tuned.
