Teaching assistants, research assistants, contract faculty, and part-time librarians and archivists at York University represented by CUPE 3903 began a strike on Monday, February 26, 2024. CUPE members are fighting for wages that keep up with inflation, job security, and improved working conditions.
YUFA members joined a solidarity rally on the first day of the strike to show support for CUPE workers. Professor Patrick Phillips, YUFA Vice President External, gave a speech expressing YUFA’s support for the workers seeking improved job conditions.
