The union representing YUFA's staff members, CUPE 1281 (YUFA sub-unit), requested a “no-
board report” on Friday October 3 at the end of our first day of conciliation, after YUFA had
agreed to conciliation as requested by the staff union, and had withdrawn 45 of our initial
proposals. The union refused to discuss YUFA's main proposal, to hire an Executive Director / in-
house Counsel.
We have another conciliation session scheduled on Tuesday, Oct 7 and we hope to make
progress then towards a negotiated renewal Collective Agreement.
A members’ drop-in meeting on October 22 will provide further updates and allow for
discussion.
