Professor Arthur Hilliker, who died on January 9, was president of YUFA from 2003 to 2014 and again from 2020 to 2024. He also held other positions at YUFA during the past quarter century.
He was recruited to York University to serve as Chair of the Department of Biology in 2000, after nearly two decades at the University of Guelph.
Professor Hilliker will be remembered by YUFA members, and the wider university community, for his principled leadership, mentorship skills, humility and ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of groups and people.
