Please join YUFA and other members of the York Cross-Campus Alliance for a solidarity visit to the Seneca College picket line in support of the college faculty who are on strike.
The strike is entering its fifth week and, with the cold weather and College Employer Council's reluctance to bargain a fair deal, it is of utmost importance for all allies to come out and show their solidarity with the striking faculty and support them in their struggle. YUFA encourages all members and allies to take the time (even if it is for a few minutes) to come out and show their support.

A photo of a picket line of college faculty on strike at Seneca College, with the slogan displayed across the top, "Solidarity with Ontario College Faculty"
Background:
College faculty are facing underpaid contracts with no job security beyond one semester. Here are their main demands:
- A 50:50 ratio of full-time to contract faculty, which currently sits at over 70% contract faculty
- Increased job security for partial-load faculty, who currently work on one-semester contracts
- Academic freedom to give faculty a stronger voice in academic decision-making
Sign this letter to tell the College Employer Council to get back to the bargaining table and negotiate a fair deal.
