YUFA’s Fall General Membership Meeting was held on November 19th. Reports from the Executive Officers were received and members were invited to consider running for election for Executive Officer positions. The Treasurer discussed YUFA’s current financial situation, presented a financial forecast, and answered questions from members. The projection is for a balanced operating budget for this year.
The President provided a brief update on bargaining with CUPE 1281 which represents the eight staff that have been hired by YUFA, and the current strike. The President noted that she is hopeful that bargaining will resume shortly.
Progress in addressing recommendations of the YUFA Trustees was noted by the President. A variety of matters and comments from members were discussed. The Treasurer gave a short overview of the YUFA Trust Fund and YUFA Foundation, noting that full reports will be made in the Spring Annual General Membership Meeting. The co-chairs of the YUFA Community Projects committee provided an update, from which a discussion ensued.
