YUFA members are invited to sign the Petition to save programs at Algoma University in regard to programs that have been “paused” at Algoma University.

Since the Spring 2025 semester, admission to five programs at Algoma was abruptly suspended  Geography, History, Music, Sociology, and Visual Art. Halting these degree programs will adversely affect students already enrolled in these programs, will adversely impact our partnerships within the Indigenous community, will reduce the variety of electives for all students, and will impact other degrees and certificates. The Algoma University's Board of Governors and President and Vice-Chancellor have been asked to reverse this decision and to reinstate admissions to these programs. The petition is organized by OPSEU Algoma University Local 685.
