Note on psychological services and Group Benefits improvements

YUFA Executive often gets queries about what psychological services are covered by the Collective Agreement. The new Collective Agreement (effective May 1, 2022) now includes registered psychotherapists, psychoanalysts, and social workers, along with licensed psychologists – up to a maximum of $ 10,000 per benefit year. It is important for members to ensure that their practitioner is registered with the appropriate professional body.

For example, Clinical Psychologists in Ontario are registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO). The CPO oversees the certification of Clinical Psychologists in the province, ensuring that they have the appropriate training (i.e. in the case of Clinical Psychologists, a Ph.D. and other specialized training).
