YUFA has endorsed the November 5 Student Day of Action and encourages members to join students and allies at Vari Hall and the picket lines throughout the day.
The Student Day of Action brings together students from across Ontario to raise concerns about OSAP cuts, tuition increases, and government policies that affect the accessibility and quality of post-secondary education. Members are encouraged to participate where possible, engage with students about the issues at stake, and support the call for accessible, high-quality, publicly funded post-secondary education.
York University’s Senate has approved reasonable academic accommodations for students participating in the Day of Action. Faculty members are asked to provide reasonable accommodations, such as extensions or alternative access to course materials where appropriate, while maintaining academic standards.
By joining students on November 5, members can help amplify the call for a stronger, more equitable, and better-funded post-secondary education sector.
