The Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) Committee invites individuals to an in-person labour and community organizing meeting to discuss pressing issues related to immigration and international students, including next steps in the broader fight for worker and migrant justice.
Members of the PGWP maintained an encampment protest in Brampton for 143 days, which concluded on January 19 with a town hall. The encampment was a deeply transformative experience that built the organizing capacity of the students, forged solidarities and new understandings of Canada's economy and government and is the basis for conversations now taking place on how to continue the PGWP campaign.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, February 13, at 6:00pm, at the Peel Elementary Teachers Local, 6435 Edwards Boulevard (Suites 5 & 6, Second Floor), Mississauga.
