L’Amicale Francophone de York a publié un communiqué s’opposant à une proposition visant à déménager le Collège Glendon de son campus historique vers Keele et à réduire son statut de faculté autonome. Selon le texte, ces changements affaibliraient la mission bilingue de Glendon et contribueraient à un nouveau recul du fait français en Ontario.

Le communiqué demande le maintien intégral de Glendon comme faculté autonome sur son campus historique, un réinvestissement dans les programmes et infrastructures francophones, ainsi qu’une consultation véritable auprès du corps professoral, des étudiant·e·s, du personnel, des diplômé·e·s et de la communauté franco-ontarienne.

Statement from the Amicale Francophone de York on the Future of Glendon

The Amicale Francophone de York has issued a public communiqué [ Link ] opposing a "proposal" to relocate Glendon College from its historic campus to Keele and reduce its status as an autonomous faculty. The statement argues that such changes would weaken Glendon’s bilingual mission and further diminish French-language institutional presence in Ontario.

The communiqué calls for maintaining Glendon as an autonomous faculty on its historic campus, increased investment in francophone programs and infrastructure, and meaningful consultation with faculty, students, staff, alumni, and the broader Franco-Ontarian community.
