YUFA issued a statement on YUFA-M on Wednesday, September 25 to encourage participation in this week's Climate Strike. The full statement is posted here.
In the message, we indicated that there is no requirement for members to inform their Dean's/Principal's Office of any absence from class on Friday, September 27 in relation to the Climate Day of Action. However, the Employer disagrees with this interpretation and has informed YUFA that such reporting by our members is required.
While this disagreement remains unresolved, we advise members to abide by the requirement. In the meantime, YUFA reserves all rights and will consider its options once the Climate Day of Action is over.
