March 8, 2017 marks International Women's Day. The theme for this year is #BeBoldForChange. In the United States, women are planning on going on on strike to challenge not only President Trump's misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, and racist policies, but also the ongoing neoliberal attack on social provision and labour rights. They will be joined by women in more than 30 different countries around the world.

Here at York, International Women's Day will be celebrated by various student and union groups coming together for a rally at Vari Hall at 12:00 p.m. The rally will help mark the recent victory of the York food service workers' strike.
