Bargaining Update: Slow Progress at the Table

In a five-hour bargaining session on Sunday August 11, facilitated by the mediator, YUFA’s Bargaining Team moved towards agreement with the Employer on a few items.

Bargaining continues this week, with sessions scheduled on August 12, 13, 17, and 18.

Faculty associations across the country, including the University of Toronto Faculty Association and the Toronto Metropolitan University Faculty Association, are circulating a student-developed petition in support of YUFA. We appreciate this inter-union solidarity!

The petition, organized by the York University Graduate Students’ Association (YUGSA) and CUPE 3903, and endorsed by the YUFA Executive, calls on the York administration to negotiate in good faith to improve the working and learning conditions at York.

This week’s regular YUFA drop-in meeting will focus on “Restructuring at York and YUFA’s Collective Agreement”. All YUFA members are welcome on `Wednesday, August 14 from 12:00 noon to 1:00pm.

The Canadian Association of University Teachers put out a communication in support of YUFA on Friday, urging the York administration to negotiate a fair deal.

The zoom link for the weekly drop-in sessions is contained in the August 12 YUFA-M with title "Bargaining Update: Slow Progress at the Table".
