More than 200 members attended the YUFA Special General Members Meeting on March 19 to consider a non-confidence motion in the York University President, Provost, and Chair of the Board of Governors. After discussion, the motion was overwhelmingly approved.
Many members were not able to attend the SGMM due to teaching and other commitments; some entered the meeting after the vote had been called, which was done to allow those present to vote before some had to leave for 11 a.m. classes. The YUFA Executive at its next meeting will discuss how best to balance our priorities of having collective, collegial discussions prior to votes with making voting accessible to all members.
