Judicial review application filed with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice regarding suspension of admission to programs

Supported by the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), a group of YUFA members have filed an application for judicial review of the decisions to suspend admission to 19 programs.
The application states, in part, that the decisions were unlawful, unreasonable, and without or in excess of any statutory discretion or authority. Moreover, the decisions were contrary to the requirements of procedural fairness and natural justice, contrary to the bicameral system of governance required by the York University Act, and contrary to the fundamental tenets of collegial governance and peer review.
YUFA will keep members informed as the application is considered by the court. A copy of the application is attached.
