The YUFA Bargaining Team met for nearly 6 hours on August 7. New mediator, Eli Gedalof facilitated, an exchange with the Employer, including agreement on five new dates for bargaining: August 11, 12, 13, 17, and 18. The YUFA Bargaining Team expressed concerns over the number of concessions that the Employer is proposing.
We have also received clarification regarding the Employer’s position on two important YUFA proposals: data privacy, and more efficient grievance/dispute resolution, mediation and arbitration. The Bargaining Team is caucusing in preparation for the next bargaining session on Sunday, August 11.
On a related note, YUFA is pleased that the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) is asking all its member associations to circulate the student petition in support of YUFA and share news of our historic 92.3% strike mandate vote.
